Energy Production & Renewables Financing

Funded where the bank — and your last broker — said no on energy.

We place energy production and renewable-energy financing from $1M to $100M across a network of 8,000+ private capital sources — not the six banks that already passed. Ground-up solar, wind, and storage builds. Existing generation facility acquisitions and refinances. No cost to apply, no credit pull to get a quote, and an underwriter on the phone within one business day.

Who this is for

What actually gets these funded

Energy deals get declined by conventional lenders for reasons that have nothing to do with whether the project works. Here's the actual underwriting logic, not the marketing version.

Cash flow is the anchor, and it comes from the contract, not the balance sheet. If you have a signed PPA or offtake agreement, that contract is the collateral a private lender reads first — tenor, counterparty credit, price escalators, curtailment terms. No signed offtake yet? Then the underwriting shifts to merchant price exposure and comparable project economics in your ISO/utility territory. Both are fundable. They're priced differently.

Permitting and regulatory status determine timing risk, not deal viability. Interconnection queue position, environmental permits, local zoning approval, and any state-level licensing status get underwritten as milestones with dates attached — not as pass/fail gates. A project mid-permitting isn't dead money to us. It's a project where the loan structure (draw schedule, reserve requirements) has to match where you actually are.

Banks are slow or absent on mid-size private deals for structural reasons, not credit reasons. Regulatory capital treatment on project finance loans, syndication minimums that don't clear below $75-100M, and construction-risk aversion push most banks out of the $1M-$50M range entirely — regardless of how good your project is. Private capital fills that gap because it prices construction and permitting risk directly instead of avoiding it.

What a private lender actually underwrites instead: sponsor track record on similar builds, contracted or projected revenue coverage against debt service, hard collateral value of the equipment and land/lease position, and — for ground-up projects — a credible take-out plan (refi to permanent debt, tax equity bridge, or sale) once the asset reaches commercial operation.

A prior decline, a low current valuation, a credit event in the sponsor's history, or a project that's behind schedule — none of that is automatically fatal. It's underwriting input. Tell us the real story and we go find the lender who prices that specific risk correctly.

What we need from you to start

Energy financing in this range doesn't get quoted off a rate sheet. Every deal here — construction, acquisition, or refinance — gets priced individually based on the project's specific contract structure, permitting stage, and sponsor position. That's true of the whole specialty category, and it's especially true here.

Submit your project and we'll have an underwriter call you within one business day. No cost to apply. No credit pull at inquiry. If the bank and the last broker already said no, that's the starting point we're used to working from — not the end of the conversation.
